About
Neon Ventures is led by Terry Brockett, a seasoned entrepreneur, CRE investor, and business operator based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. With a career spanning over two decades of building, scaling, and investing, Terry brings a rare blend of operational depth and investment acumen to every engagement.
Terry learned business from the shop floor. Growing up at Starlite Sign in Denton, Texas, his father put him to work early and instilled the work ethic that would define his career. Terry learned manufacturing, purchasing, sales, and operations not from a textbook, but from doing the work. He went on to purchase the company and lead its growth from $6 million to $55 million in revenue before selling a majority stake to private equity in 2016, staying on as CEO to guide the business through the transition.
That experience became the blueprint for everything that followed.
In 2019, Terry founded Neon Ventures to pursue what he does best: identify opportunity, deploy capital, and build. Today the portfolio spans multiple industries and asset classes. NorthBridge Realty Holdings and Brockland Properties focus on commercial real estate development in the DFW metroplex. Benchmark Equipment serves the equipment rental market. Yellow Door Storage and Dry Dock & Lock operate in the self-storage sector. RelayHub is his AI software venture, and he co-hosts the Weeks Ahead AI podcast, exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping business. Strategic investments include Anasova, Vooks, Lium, and American National Bank & Trust.
Terry is also an active investor in commercial real estate, equities, options, and private debt. He advises business owners through leadership training and coaching, drawing on decades of experience scaling operations, navigating transactions, and building teams that perform.
He serves on the Board of Directors of American National Bank & Trust and is a member of the Aubrey ISD Board of Trustees. He previously served on the Board of the Texas Sign Association and was its President from 2009 to 2010.
Terry holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of North Texas. He lives in Aubrey, Texas, with his wife and younger daughter, who attends Prestonwood Christian Academy. His older daughter is a student at Baylor University.

Elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2021 (Place 3). Aubrey ISD is one of the fastest-growing school districts in North Texas and a member of the state's Fast Growth School Coalition, serving nearly 4,900 students across seven campuses in Aubrey, Providence Village, Krugerville, and Cross Roads. Since joining the board, district enrollment has grown nearly 60%, from approximately 3,100 to 4,900 students. Helped oversee the passage and execution of a $385.9 million bond program funding three new elementary schools, a second middle school, high school expansions, and district-wide facility improvements. Enrollment is projected to reach 8,900 by 2032.
